Periodontal treatments

Tartar removal and root surface smoothing
The first phase of periodontal treatment is a thorough, deep cleaning of the teeth. In this stage, we remove plaque above and below the gum line. Curettage involves smoothing the roots of the teeth, which reduces the risk of gum disease recurring, stops gum recession and promotes the healing of the gum tissue.
Laser treatment
During periodontal therapy, an Ilyés Dental specialist uses a laser to remove the inflamed gum tissue from around the root of the tooth. Once the infected tissue has been removed and the root exposed, root cleaning begins: we remove tartar and plaque deposits from below the gum line and around the root. The dentist then smooths the root to eliminate rough areas that attract bacteria and cause future infections. The area between the gum and the root can then regenerate during the healing process.
